Who from the chat rode Sea to Sky 2026, and how does the Stark handle this race?

Chat members at Sea to Sky 2026

  • One member rode a Stark. Forest race: 28 km, 6 of 9 checkpoints. Mountain race: 28 of 42 km; reached CP 7 two minutes before the time bar with 23% charge and retired — not enough charge or time to continue. Started the mountain race 268th of 329. Finisher. The beach race was spoiled by the chain. Forest race video: https://youtu.be/Wv-jmWVUDj0
  • Another rode a KTM, made the time bar and reached the finish.
  • Another rode a Stark. In the optional Special Race he dropped the bike on rocks — the front sprocket broke along with the carbon guard. Twice he went fully underwater with the Stark — the bike survived.
  • Another rode a Husqvarna. According to him there were four Starks at the race; the Stark's plus is that it's easy to scout the canyon on foot with it, the minuses are weight and battery.

The Stark at Sea to Sky — experience

  • On one battery Starks reach roughly checkpoint 7; bronze gate is CP 6, from CP 6 to 7 it's already silver.
  • To go further, riders plan a second battery swapped at a checkpoint — CPs are almost always next to a road. Opinions on the swap differ: some say "5 minutes", others took over an hour in a workshop — without a support crew it will be hard in a race.
  • Crashing is expensive: rocks hit the sprocket and guards, and in deep sand the bike is hard to lift.
  • One Stark rider covered 40 km with 5% left; another finished on a Stark with 4%.
  • Anyone who reaches at least the first checkpoint of the mountain race counts as a finisher.
