What is the latest Stark Varg firmware and what's new in 1.15.0?
The latest is 1.15.0 (October 2026, released together with app 3.4.0/3.4.1). It rolls out to both the EX and the MX. If the app says the latest is 1.12, update the app anyway: after that it offers 1.15.
How to update: app 3.4.1 downloads the firmware over your phone's Wi-Fi and installs it on the bike. A working SIM in the modem is no longer required.
What changed in 1.15.0
- new secure communication with the phone: only a phone with a Stark account can connect to and unlock the bike
- because of this, third-party apps can't connect on 1.15: VargPilot, DV Watch, Svag
- VargLink works with 1.15 (from version 0.27, varg.aupov.tech). It shows and changes charging and modes alongside the official app
Before updating from 1.12: if you use VargPilot, keep in mind that it won't connect on 1.15.
